When it comes to being an independent parent, it is not just women who have that desire to have a baby. There are men who look forward to being single dads. This goal is not out of reach, especially with the help of Neway Fertility. You can depend on us to help you every step of the way, from your initial consultation to the happy day.

Beginning the Journey to Independent Parenthood

The fertility journey for single dads begins with the selection of an egg donor and a gestational surrogate to carry your baby.

Neway Fertility is your partner, guiding you in your choices along the way. When looking for a suitable egg donor, you want her to be healthy and preferably between the ages of 21-32. A woman’s eggs are at their highest quality during this time. Options for egg donors include:

  • Choosing a family friend
  • Relative
  • Individual selected from Neway Fertility’s database of eligible donors (fresh eggs)
  • Frozen eggs selected from Neway Fertility’s Egg Bank

This first step in your journey to becoming an independent dad is very important. We are here to help guide you along the way.

Your donor will be screened extensively. This screening is to rule out possible complications that could occur during the process. Screenings include testing for infectious diseases according to FDA guidelines. The donor will also need to complete a questionnaire on family genetic history, fertility and past gynecologic history. A fertility workup will be carried out to evaluate the potential for egg donation.

Choosing Your Gestational Surrogate

As with the egg donor, you have options for your gestational surrogate. This person may be a family friend, a relative or you can go through an agency to select the surrogate. Whomever you choose will need to complete an extensive screening. This screening is also required to rule out any possible complications along the way. Your surrogate will need to be screened for infectious disease according to FDA guidelines. She will also need to complete a questionnaire on past gynecologic history and have a fertility workup to evaluate her potential for surrogacy.

Legal Protection for Your Family

It is important that your new family be protected, so regardless of your choices in egg donor and surrogacy, Neway Fertility will guide you in making the process as smooth as possible. You will need to employ an attorney who specializes in third party reproduction. We can recommend an attorney for you or you can choose one on your own.

Psychological Preparation

Becoming a single dad is not a decision to take lightly. It involves other people, and we want to make sure that all participants are thoroughly prepared for any and all outcomes. We provide counseling for you, your egg donor and your surrogate. Our counseling services are for anyone using an egg donor and/or gestational surrogate. The journey to parenthood can be an emotional one for everyone involved. We want to make sure everyone is completely on board and ready to begin this exciting journey with you.

If you are ready to embark on this adventure in becoming an independent parent, contact Neway Fertility, and we will help you get there.
