During the egg retrieval procedure, you’ll be under sedation to ensure your comfort, and any post-procedure discomfort, like cramping or bloating, is usually mild and short-lived. IVF typically involves several appointments over the course of a single cycle, including initial consultations, ultrasounds, bloodwork, monitoring visits, the egg retrieval procedure, and embryo transfer. The timeline for IVF results varies from patient to patient. After embryo transfer, we typically schedule a pregnancy test about 9–14 days later. If successful, you’ll continue care with us during the early weeks of pregnancy before transitioning to your OB/GYN. It’s important to remember that while some individuals achieve pregnancy on the first IVF cycle, others may require multiple rounds—something our team discusses openly and compassionately to help manage expectations and provide emotional support throughout.

Yes. Depending on your needs, IVF can be paired with additional options like egg/sperm donation. This integration allows us to tailor treatment even more closely to your fertility goals. Like any medical procedure, IVF comes with some risks, though serious complications are rare. Potential risks include ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), infection, bleeding, and multiple pregnancy. Emotional stress and financial strain are also valid concerns.
