Endometriosis is a complicated condition where the uterine lining, or endometrium, is found outside of the uterus. The main symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain before, during, or after a woman’s period. Although there is no known cure for this condition, there are different ways to manage these symptoms.

Endometriosis can have a negative impact on your quality of life. Changes to your diet will not cure endometriosis, but they can help ease and manage the pain. Avoid foods and drinks such as alcohol, caffeine, gluten, and red meat. To help fight the pain, focus on having a nutrient-dense, well-balanced diet. Include foods such as:

A study found that regular exercise can help improve the symptoms of endometriosis. When you exercise, your body releases a hormone called endorphins. Endorphins are the body’s natural painkillers.
