Mild IVF (low dose, minimal stimulation) is the best option for women who want a little more stimulation than a natural IVF cycle, but less than is required for a conventional, fully stimulated IVF cycle. During Mild IVF, a patient will return to the office for 5-8 days of monitoring to determine follicular growth and to determine when ovulation will occur, allowing the doctor to determine when the egg retrieval should take place. Once retrieved, the eggs are fertilized in our laboratory and allowed to develop in culture for 3 to 5 days after the retrieval. The embryos are then transferred back into the woman.
